The Cycle of Fashion

February 24, 2018

Fashion does not revolve on just one style, it revolves on many. Which is why the cycle of fashion exist. Fashions trends come and go. Over their lifespan, they're often seen as something mysterious and interesting. When new styles are seen worn by celebrities on TV or magazines they attract the attention of the general public,  They gain popularity, and, sooner or later the trend gets boring and are replaced by the next "cool" thing. After so many designs copies are mass produced, people get tired of that style and begin to look for something new. That exact process is happening to the jogger pants.
Along the years footwear has always been an important thing about fashion as well as footwear being visual. Thanks to the oversized pants that cover up footwear, the need of cuffed pants was promoted. The jogger was born and gained its recognition with footwear visual. Skinny jeans did not really do a lot for men. They would be tight and uncomfortable. The joggers had a combination of both tight and loose. The trend spread like a virus, it was sold in many known stores such as Pacsun, Topman, Hollister etc. Even shoe companies would advertise the pants.
Like mentioned before fashion does not revolve on just one style. Eventually a trend will fade away. According to, , she states that "consumers behavior propagate new trends"  and somehow old. After the jogger trend started to fade away men started to go with the denim trend. Denim made an impact on fashion. As of today you see denim everywhere,  whether the jeans are baggy or tight, denim has become the "cool" thing now.
All in all, the cycle never ends, and eventually trends will fade. However some trends still do remain alive.
