when we talk about accessories, it does not only limit to jewelries. Handbags, sunglasses, belts shoes are also part of accessories. And we dare say, no women or men today live without a single accessory in their wardrobe. Accessories play a huge roe in fashion. Accessories are just as important as clothing, it's what completes everyone's look. Accessories can be fun and exciting. Everyone at one point over accessorized when they were younger because accessories looked so good. It is always fun and exciting to be your own stylist trying to pair the right accessories. It can also change your mood or explain your mood. Accessories can also create different looks. In a NYTimes article by Oliver Simone he states that "The accessories business is healthier than the apparel business." I strongly agree because accessories do pull together an outfit. For example, your outfit can be vintage, but as soon as you throw some accessories it does the magic and your outfit wont look old and basic. If by any chance you find yourself wearing the same outfit as last time it is no big deal accessories will change the look.
Most people amplify their personality with accessories. Accessories is also another path to express themselves and their own style. while each persons choice of clothes already say everything about their style, personality and preference, accessories help take it overboard. Oliver also said "clothing and accessories work hand in hand like peanut butter and jelly" with accessories you can save money and time. shopping for clothing needs more time compared to shopping for accessories. There are just so many evaluation points before purchasing an outfit. For instance "does it go with my body?" "does the color match my skin tone?" " do they have the right size for me?" etc. However accessories are easier and shorter decision making process. For me if I see a cute accessory I just take it in a second and I think that's with everyone else. For example in Forever 21 and H&M the accessory section is either next to the register or in front of it because they know most of the time you will just see a girl just take an accessory without second guessing.
Believe it or not, accessories can be a conversation starter. it is always nice to start a conversation by complimenting something nice about a person. This happens with both women and men. If one guy is wearing the newest pair of shoes another guy has been wanting of course the one whos been wanting them will make a nice comment and you've guessed it, a conversation has been started. Same with girls if one girl is wearing a cute choker another girl who thinks the choker looks nice will compliment the other girl and then will start conversating.
